On the Streets of Arusha

Arusha is where we lived for 4 years. It is a typical city in a developing country: dusty and crowded and jammed with the traffic of people and cars. It has  an anachronistic mix of wealthy and poor: Land Cruisers and push carts; cafés and dukas; estates and shanties. If you can get successfully negotiate the bicycles, push carts and daladalas on the way into town, there is something uniquely compelling about sitting in, for example, Big Bite, and hearing the Muslim call to prayer.
